Go to church. READ HIS WORD, and ask Him for understanding. Talk to others about God.

  I can relate to you when you say that you feel distant from God.  I was once at that point in my life, too.  Trying to understand and find answers but not really knowing where to start.  Let me ask you, when did your relationship with God start?  You mentioned baptism, but according to the Bible, baptism is only a picture of the relationship.  It doesn't give you the relationship itself.  First, you have to repent and believe, as the Bible says.  By nature, we are separated from God because we are sinners, and God is holy.  To bridge that gap, Christ came to die for our sins.  To have a relationship with Him, we have to repent (turn) from our sins to God, and believe that Christ's death on the cross of Calvary is the only way to be saved and find forgiveness.  Baptism, charitable deeds, good works--those are all great, but they are to come after, as proof of a relationship--not to make one.  I prayed for you when I read your comment, and I pray that the Lord will show you Himself.  He doesn't want anyone to be confused.  He loves you, and wants you to jnow Him.
